Oh I do love my Glossy Box 💕
For £13.25 a month I get a delivery of 5 (often full sized) beauty products which could be anything ranging between haircare, skincare or makeup to try out and get to know new brands.
It’s always a fun surprise and though sometimes you may recieve a few duds, for the price you can’t really complain and I just pass anything I won’t use onto friends or family.
This month was a beautiful Rose gold edition in collaboration with Beauty blogger Really Ree. And the idea is that this box is packed full of products to leave you feeling glam this holiday season.
The first item is from the brand Etre Belle which is a brand that has been featured in Glossy Box before and I have enjoyed in the past. This time it is a travel size of the Golden skin caviar eye roll on, which is meant to hydrate and refresh the eye area. I love eye products as I always seem to have tired eyes and dark circles. So I looked forward to using this, unfortunately I did find that it left my eyes stinging a bit, but I’ve not been very well and I think I’m just a bit sensitive at the moment so I will try it again when I’m not so full of cold.
Next we have a product by So Susan which is a brand I am a fan of as they don’t use Mineral oils, phthalates and parabens and are cruelty free. They also have the most gorgeous packaging which we all know I’m a fan of! In this box we have a full sized Statement skin highlighter pencil which is really very pretty and very easy to use. It adds a really pretty glow to your cupids bow, brow bone, inner eyes, anywhere you want to highlight really, and just brightens up your whole complexion. I’d definitely recommend you check the brand out and they have some really cute affordable gift sets available on their website at the moment.
There is usually a nail varnish included and this month we have the long lasting nail effects by Collection. I’m not a huge fan of the colour, I know some users got a burgundy shade which I would’ve preferred. But I’m sure I’ll get some use out of it. It’s very sheer and just adds a touch of silver shimmer so I’d most likely use it over another polish rather than on it’s own.
Next we have a skincare product which is the tester size of the L’Occitane Shea face comforting oil. I love this brand and really appreciate that this is 100% natural. Face oils are incredible for this time of year in particular as with all the central heating and cold weather, our skin can become dehydrated and uncomfortable. So I will definitely be giving this a go and seeing if it makes any difference to my skin. I love L’Occitane’s in shower body oil and find it works wonders for hydrating my skin and leaves the nicest scent so I have high hopes for this.
It seems like every brand is coming out with it’s own version of a liquid lipstick, and with such high quality options out there, it’s important that the formulation is up to standard. So I tried the Essence Liquid lipstick on as soon as I got it and while the colour is pretty and it feels nice on, I wouldn’t say it’s a liquid lipstick, just a very pigmented lip gloss. It doesn’t set to a matte or dry finish, it’s just stays glossy, and I didn’t find it lasted that long on me. But as I say it’s a very pretty, wearable colour so I’m sure I’ll get some use out of it, just be prepared to be touching it up throughout the day.
Finally we have the Starskin Bio-cellulose second skin mask (sounds fancy I know) This was an extra treat as usually there are only 5 products so we get a little added bonus. This lovely mask claims to hydrate, and pep up the skin meaning it’s perfect for pre party brightening or post party nourishing and is soaked in 30ml of a vitamin packed serum. I love a face mask so I really look forward to using this and I’ve heard great things about Starskin before so I was really quite excited to recieve this.
All in all I was pretty pleased with this month’s box and look forward to my next one. I’m thinking next year I might switch things up and try a different beauty subscription box so if there are any that you love and you could recommend then please let me know!
Thanks for reading lovelies! Have a wonderful week.
