Ohhh so this one I’m really excited to share with you pretty people! I’ve never tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills eye shadows before and traditionally as you all know I tend to stick to very neutral, warm toned shadows. I felt like it was time to break out of my comfort zone and add a little colour and sparkle into my collection, so I treated myself to the Self Made palette.
Self made is full of highly pigmented, versatile, beautiful shades which inspire a whole host of makeup looks. While the palette is mostly made up of shimmers and metallic pearl shades, there are 3 mattes – Sherbert which is the perfect transition shade, Buttery, a pretty cream highlight and Hot Chocolate, a beautiful, warm toned dark brown.
The three colours which really stood out to me once I had swatched them all out were Deep purple, Metallic Plum and Hot & Cold. They were all highly pigmented straight away and had a lovely metallic finish to them.
I found a couple of the shimmers to be a little crumbly, especially Witchy which is a lovely taupe/gun metal, but you do need to watch out for fall out.
Another beautiful shade in there which doesn’t show up so well on camera is Spirit Rock, which is a matte black with red glitter in it. It’s GORGEOUS and just adds something a little extra special with the glitter.
And finally one which I have to mention is the colour Blush, which looks in the palette like a white shimmery highlight, but once it’s on the skin it’s iridescent and changes to a pink when the light hits it which I just thought was really pretty and unique.
Over all I think this is a really decent palette which allows you to get a little more creative and make some stunning looks. The shadows are really high quality. They apply so smoothly and are very easy to blend.
If you have been on the fence about trying out this palette, I would definitely recommend you go for it as it really is a beautiful and worth every penny.
I got mine from Beauty Bay for £27.00 which I think is an amazing price for such a high quality palette.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this review has been helpful for you, and hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
