Anybody who knows me will tell you I am a huge fan of REN skincare. It’s the only line of products I am able to use on my skin without breaking out, which I know has everything to do with the pure ingredients that REN use.
It’s fortunate that I am able to work with REN in my job, which not only means I get a snazzy discount, but also that I am able to try and test all of their products and find the ones that really work. I was fortunate enough to get to choose a few free products this time as part of a sales incentive scheme at work, So let’s take a look at my favourites…
Clear Calm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser – £19.00
“A purifying antibacterial cleanser formulated to combat the appearance of breakouts and blemishes leaving skin visibly clearer and calmer.”
I switched to this cleanser at the beggining of last year when I was getting endless breakouts and could do nothing to keep my skin under control. As this cleanser is for blemish prone skin, I decided to give it a go. And what a difference it made! From the first use I noticed how calm my skin appeared. Within a week my skin had started to clear up and I found that it had not only helped heal my breakouts. But it had also helped to prevent further spots from popping up. The clay helps to reduce redness, absorb excess oil and gently exfoliate the skin to combat the main causes of breakouts. The best part about this cleanser is that it can be used as a clay mask too, just massage it on and leave it for 10 minutes.
Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser – £16.00
“A rich two-phase cleanser that purifies, decongests, gently exfoliates and removes all makeup. It leaves skin refreshed, radiant, smoothed and replenished without dryness or tightness.”
The first thing you notice when massaging this cleanser into your skin, is how gorgeous it smells, the Rosa Centifolia and Cocoa Butter create a wonderful delicate scent which is just a pleasure to use. The second thing you’ll love is how rich and luxurious this feels, as it is formulated to hydrate and nourish your skin with every cleanse.
After massaging it onto the skin and over the eyes if removing makeup, you soak the cloth in hot water and place it over your skin to relax the pores and get a deep cleanse. Then polish off the cleanser and rinse your skin with cool water to tighten the pores. Your skin is left feeling fresh, smooth and hydrated.
V-cense Revitalising Night Cream – £32.00
“Formulated to recharge, revitalise and intensively hydrate the skin overnight, this multi action cream visibly smoothed fine lines, evens skin tone and offers antioxidant protection to help combat the signs of premature ageing.”
I use both this night cream and the day cream on my skin and the results really are gorgeous. The comforting formula instantly soothes and hydrated my skin, and has a sweet, soft scent of frankincense. The day cream absorbs quickly and easily into my skin meaning I can apply makeup straight away. The night cream is a bit richer so I know my skin is being looked after with something a little more intensive while I sleep.
At the age of 22, anti-ageing isn’t really a main concern of mine just yet, but it’s always nice to know that my moisturiser is working as a preventative and continuously helping battle premature signs of ageing. This is great for those in their 20s and early 30s. A little more on the pricey side. But to me, I would rather take better care of my skin and use high quality products. Having a decent skincare routine means having a better canvas to work on when applying makeup.
Resurfacing AHA Comcentrate – £30
“A concentrate formulated to resurface the skin and renew the complexion giving a radiant, youthful glow. A complex of glycolic, lactic, tartaric and citric acids promote cell turnover, leaving skin looking revitalised, brighter, smoother and more healthy”
This has been my first time trying this products as we don’t stock it where I work, but as I was able to pick a couple of products I thought I’d give it a go, as I love anything designed to brighten and even out my skin. This clever formula uses natural acids to gently eat away at dead skin cells while you sleep, which means you wake up in the morning with healthy, perfectly exfoliated skin! I’ve started using it as part of a radiance programme we were recommended to do when I went on my REN training. So I apply this under my moisturiser after cleansing at night, and will do so for 7 days. I Then give my skin a 7 day break, then repeat, but allow a 14 day break the second time. This works with the skins natural cycle and will ensure the best results from this intensive brightening treatment.
Let me know if you’ve given any REN Skincare products a go and what you thought! And what other natural skincare brands do you think I should try?
